Tigers Helping Cats

UPDATE: The Nevada SPCA informed us that Truman has been adopted by a kind and loving woman. Thanks to all that helped him find his forever home!

Meet Truman (named after Mizzou’s beloved mascot). He is the first cat that the Nevada SPCA will be adopting out with our local alumni association’s support. We will be donating and soliciting donations for Truman’s care and eventual adoption. The Nevada SPCA, a nonprofit organization, operates a no-kill animal sanctuary, promotes humane education, makes referrals for lower-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services, and challenges people to be the best possible guardians for the companion animals in their care. Among those companions seeking a guardian, is Truman.

To learn more about Truman, please view his profile on the NV SPCA website, or his blog site. To make a donation to support Truman, please follow this link: https://www.razoo.com/story/Nevadaspca. When making your donation, please include the note, “For Truman! From a loving Tiger.”, so we know that our alums are making a difference.

Tigers in Space! Visit to CSN Planetarium

Thanks to the generosity of one of our fellow alums, we will be visiting the College of Southern Nevada’s Planetarium on Saturday, January 14th @ TBD. Andrew Kerr (PhD ’02) is the Director of the Planetarium, and will be our guide as he shows us the wonders of space. The planetarium excursion is a free and family-friendly event, and we welcome not only our Tigers but their families. We will then be gathering for lunch afterwards at a local eatery (location TBD).

For this event, please RSVP via email mizzoualumnilv@gmail.com or the Mizzou Las Vegas Facebook page so we can plan accordingly. Thanks again to Andrew for this fun opportunity, and we look forward to seeing you all there!
